Why book a cruise 12-15 months out?
Are there any downsides to booking a cruise early?
I get these questions a lot. I am a planner by nature, so the very thought of waiting until the last minute to plan anything makes me jittery. However, I feel completely at ease planning well in advance for a major vacation like a Disney cruise.
Here are some reasons to make your cruise reservation early:
** Prices are usually at their lowest right after they have been released. If your reservation qualifies for a better rate after you have booked, your Wishes agent will automatically adjust your reservation to reflect the savings.
** Airline flights are better if you purchase your tickets several months in advance.
** Disney Cruise Line requires a 20% deposit at the time of booking, sometimes there is a promotion requiring only a 10% deposit. You can then take the year to make payments or stash the cash in a separate savings account to pay off the final amount.
** Use the year to save up some extra money for the fabulous excursions Disney Cruise Line offers at each of the ports.
** There is time to shop sales for another swimsuit, sun dress or aloha shirt. There is time to find, join and prepare for an FE (Fish Extender) Group. You can create your personalized door magnets and make friends from your cruise’s Facebook or DisBoards page.
** As a family, create a special countdown and enjoy watching those numbers get smaller and smaller.
** You have time to enjoy planning for the best vacation ever!
** The ONLY downside is the wait!
